Accessibility Statement

Our commitment
Pilates With Ashlee wants this website to be usable by everyone, including people who use a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, or rely on other assistive technology. We target the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, as our standard, and we review the site against it on an ongoing basis rather than treating it as a one-time task.
What we've built with accessibility in mind
Some of the concrete things already in place on this site:
- Form fields (contact, booking, intake) have visible, programmatically linked labels, not placeholder-only text.
- Links and buttons get a clearly visible focus outline when navigating by keyboard, not just a mouse hover state.
- Motion (the scrolling ticker, the photo marquee, kinetic text) is paused or removed for visitors whose device is set to reduce motion.
- Text color and background pairings are checked against the WCAG 4.5:1 (normal text) and 3:1 (large text) contrast thresholds, and we correct any pairing that falls short as we find it.
Known limitations
In a few spots (for example the hero and the studio photo sections) text sits directly on top of a photograph or video rather than a flat color. Standard contrast-ratio math is built for flat colors and doesn't map cleanly onto a busy photographic background, so instead of chasing a numeric ratio there we lean on larger type, heavier weight, and a shadow or darkening overlay behind the text to keep it readable. We keep an eye on these spots by hand rather than by formula.
We are in the middle of a sitewide review and are correcting text/background combinations that don't yet meet the thresholds above as we find them. If something on this site is hard to read or use, we would genuinely like to know, using the contact below.
Let us know
If you run into an accessibility barrier anywhere on this site, or need information on this site in a different format, reach out directly: text or call (612) 203-4995 or email info@pilateswithashlee.com. We respond personally, and we would rather hear about a problem directly than have you run into it again.
